First Year Teacher Card
If this is your first year in the field of teaching, you are eligible for a pre&nd]approved fixed–rate credit card from Space Coast Credit Union that features no annual fee and credit limit of $800.
SCCU will not conduct a credit inquiry in order to issue this card to qualified applicants; however, applicants must meet the following criteria and be able to prove employment:
- You must live or work in Brevard, Volusia, Flagler, Indian River or Seminole counties.
- Prospective members must meet basic credit criteria for membership. A credit inquiry will be made by SCCU at the time you apply for membership.
- You will be asked to provide a copy of your employment contract for the current school year when you sign your account documents. This card cannot be issued if a valid contract cannot be supplied. SCCU reserves the right to request additional proof of your status as a first–year teacher.
As with all SCCU Platinum credit cards, you are automatically part of our FREE, ScoreCard Rewards® proram. You can redeem your points for travel and merchandise or a loan rebate. As a teacher, you can also enroll yourself as a recipient in the Education Donation Program, and set aside a portion of your rebate accrual to use towards classroom-related expenses that you pay for with personal funds.
