[MELBOURNE, FL] [DAYTONA, FL] – Space Coast Credit Union announced that it has further enhanced its Commercial Real Estate services with the addition of a Commercial Real Estate Rebate option. With this new offering, the credit union’s business members can receive a rebate equal to 20% of the commission earned by a broker for a lease or purchase transaction. This rebate means that the business can offset up to a third of the typical closing costs for commercial purchases. The rebate option can also offset out of pocket costs incurred when leasing commercial or industrial property.

"We saw an emerging need to assist our members given the substantial closing costs associated with commercial real estate," said Bill Jenkins, Space Coast Credit Union's Business Services Manager. "The new commercial real estate rebate represents yet another way SCCU observes and responds to our members' needs."

SCCU is working with Lightle Commercial, Inc., a well-known local Real Estate Brokerage, as the premier Broker for this program. "Brian Lightle has been a vital asset in the development and implementation of this innovative program," says Jenkins. To be eligible for the rebate, the business member must contact the credit union prior to entering into any relationship or agreement with a broker. "This rebate is part of our overall service approach, and we want the opportunity to meet with the buyer or lessor and have an initial discussion of the best approach to finding a suitable property and financing it," stated Jenkins. "We find ourselves working with many business people who focused on finding the property first, and subsequently have spent a great deal of time and money trying to make the property fit into their plans, instead of spending some time up front to ensure that they focus on finding a property that truly fits into their plans. We can identify many challenges up front and discuss issues that will help avoid problems and costs later on".

Space Coast Credit Union can assist with property purchases or leases anywhere in Florida, as long as the business qualifies for membership. Those living or working in Brevard, Flagler, Indian River, Osceola and Volusia Counties; as well as in Sanford, Lake Mary and Longwood are eligible to join SCCU.
