The following article, which appeared in the Daytona Beach News–Journal on September 26, 2007 is an example of how the ideas promoted through Operation Credit Unions are being disseminated at the local level, with Space Coast Credit Union being marked as on of the “new breed” credit unions targeted by the campaign.

SCCU Serves Members’ Best Interest, Banks Unhappy

The Daytona Beach News Journal reported on SCCU’s new Commercial Real Estate Rebates, and according to the article, bankers aren’t happy. It’s no surprise that the Florida Banker’s Association feels it necessary to bash credit unions and misrepresent credit unions as not paying their fair share in taxes; we work for our members, not for profits, which results in a price benefit to business members.
