What to do before you rent a Safe Deposit Box*
- Conduct a home inventory for items you would like to store in your box
- Make copies of all important papers (store originals in your box and keep copies at home for reference)
- Place original paperwork in a freezer safe zip top bag to avoid damage
- Contact your homeowner’s insurance provider: items in Safe Deposit Boxes are not covered under NCUA insurance. Make sure your valuables are covered under your owners/renters policy
*The contents of your Safe Deposit Box is not covered under NCUA insurance. Before you rent a Safe Deposit Box, check with your homeowner’s insurance carrier to insure the contents of your box. Although we make every effort to protect your Safe Deposit Box, boxes are not water or fire proof. Sizes and prices effective as of February 1, 2009.
