What to do before you rent a Safe Deposit Box*

  • Conduct a home inventory for items you would like to store in your box
  • Make copies of all important papers (store originals in your box and keep copies at home for reference)
  • Place original paperwork in a freezer safe zip top bag to avoid damage
  • Contact your homeowner’s insurance provider: items in Safe Deposit Boxes are not covered under NCUA insurance. Make sure your valuables are covered under your owners/renters policy
