Virus warning: Fake DHL Delivery Email Seeks Money Transfer
Scam artists posing as DHL, an international mail service, are sending virus-filled emails disguised with DHL graphics and content, including and a prompt to open a zip file. The email contains a virus known as W32/Trojan3.AKC Trojan.
According to DHL.com, the text within the body of the virus email mentions the sale of consumer goods over the Internet, where payment may be requested by money transfer for goods in transport before the goods will be delivered.
DHL does not request payment in this manner. In general, DHL collects money due for official DHL related shipping expenses only.
