Alternatives to Deferred Pay
Why is an alternative needed? To ensure that you have the funds needed for your expenses during the summer months; the time when you're not receiving a paycheck. Saving a portion of your paycheck each pay-period is the easiest way to accomplish this goal. Here is an example of how allocating a portion of your paycheck each pay-period to an SCCU savings account will result in available funds for those "slim" months:
Goal: Accumulate $2000 in an SCCU savings account by the end of the Spring term - e.g. Funds can be used to cover mortgage or car payments
Available funds: Annual salary of $40K; paid over 20 paychecks, etc...

Method: Allocate $100/ paycheck into desired SCCU savings account via SCCU's BudgetMaster or Payroll Allocation

Result: $2000 in your account by the last paycheck
Florida Tech has made the benefit of Payroll Allocation into an SCCU savings account available to all employees. Even if you have your paycheck deposited to another financial institution, you can allocate some funds into an SCCU account.

Here's how to start saving:
Current SCCU Members: contact the Florida Tech Human Resources Department to complete the needed payroll deduction forms.

Prospective SCCU Members: Open your account by by calling Express Services at (321) 752-2222, Option 3. You can also apply online at SCCU.com. After you receive your Share Savings account number, contact your Human Resources Department to complete the forms to have all or part of your paycheck deposited to SCCU.
