Space Coast Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative serving the needs of over 360,000 members throughout Florida. We are sometimes referred to as a “bank” but we are not a bank. The fundamental difference lies in the cooperative nature of the credit union. We exist solely to provide value to our member-owners. One of the ways we provide value is by mobilizing the buying power represented by the millions of transactions per month conducted by our members in our local economies.

The cooperative nature of the credit union is reflected in our approach to community support. The credit union is not a charitable giving organization, and we are very guarded in the “giving” of our members’ money to the many good causes that exist in our communities. Rather, the credit union has always been eager to facilitate ways for members and employees to better the communities in which we all live.

For example, our Education Donation Program allows members to donate a portion of their credit and debit card rewards points to support learning in our community. Here, too, we give the members their voice. They can direct their donations to a specific teacher, coach, team, club, the PTO – whatever is important to each member personally. The pennies, nickels, and dimes accumulated over the last 10 years of this program has resulted in tens of thousands of dollars of personal expense reimbursement going directly to those hometown heroes who devotedly teach our children.
