Magnavox brought the arcade into the living room with the release of the Odyssey in 1972.

2.  What was the first cartridge-loading console? Atari
The Atari 2600 was the first successful cartridge-loading console. It was released in 1977.

3.  What was the very first video game? Tennis for Two
In 1958, a physicist trying to make his lab a little more interesting devised what some consider the very first video game system. Displayed on a tiny 5-inch screen, players tried to "hit" a ball over a "net" using boxes with dials and buttons.

4.  What was the first video game a joystick was built for? Spacewar!
In 1962, students at MIT came up with the world's first fully interactive video game that used a joystick. The game consisted of two spaceships firing missiles at each other against a backdrop of stars.

5. What was the first commercial video game system designed to be played at home on a television monitor? Odyssey
The first home video game system sold commercially was developed by engineer Ralph Baer in 1967, and marketed to the public in 1972 by Magnavox. The rudimentary system came with colored Mylar overlays to change the color of the "playing field" on the TV screen. The Odyssey sold 100,000 units its first year.

6.  What is the name of the company that developed Pong? Atari
Pong, the first runaway hit in the history of video games, was the product of Atari. Pong, a simple tennis game requiring players to knock a "ball" back and forth between two paddles, was supposed to be a simple prototype. It was wildly successful, spawning numerous knockoffs and ushering in the age of the video game as an industry.
